  This section features some slightly more irreverent looks at GGK's works and worlds, as well as some plain old fun. A few of these pieces were on the site before, but most are brand new. I have some great plans for this section - it's going to continue to expand...so check back often! GGK Hotbar SkinsBright Weavings goes multimedia with this section of the site. Hotbar is a technology which allows you to download 'skins' - that 'dress' the grey netscape/IE interface at the top of your browser with graphic images. A word of warning - they only work on PC's. I've created a Bright Weavings skin centre, with five skins (so far) to choose from, using cover art and quotes from the books. All you have to do to install the hotbar Active-X technology that makes this feature possible, is click 'yes' when the hotbar window pops up after you click through to the skin centre. The Dictionary of Imaginary PlacesFrom Middle-Earth to Wonderland, The Dictionary of Imaginary Places, by Alberto Manguel and Gianni Guadalupi, gives descriptions of the many lands and places that have been created over the centuries in literary works. Read the travelogue entry on Fionavar, to ensure you don't miss all the must-see spots when you go! The Hitchhiker's Guide to Survival in FionavarThis is a very fun piece contributed by Mabry Slemmons, which complements the travelogue entry nicely. These are very important guidelines to be aware of when visiting the first of all worlds, but be warned; abiding by its rules cannot guarantee your survival! A Review With A Difference!The Altavista search engine has a very useful little tool called 'babelfish' which you can use to translate words into different languages - or even entire web pages. But...the translating mechanism is idiosyncratic, to say the least. The very least. We used it here to translate a German review of Tigana into English. For anyone who knows the book well (and indeed, even for those who don't) this translation is hilarious! How To Tell That You've Been Reading Too Much GGK...Some readers have compiled a list of very useful signs. If you find yourself exhibiting any of these symptoms, seek help quickly. Or just shrug your shoulders with your characteristic gesture (either that or run your fingers through your hair) and resign yourself to the inevitable. The Fionavar Tapestry Casting CouchHave you ever thought about who the best actor to play a character in a GGK book would be? Well, a few years ago some web surfers got together and discussed, debated and argued their choices for the main characters of The Fionavar Tapestry. Gateway to Fionavar: A Photographic TravelogueDid you ever wonder what Convocation Hall looks like, where the five first see Loren and Matt, and the events of The Fionavar Tapestry are set in motion? Two GGK readers did, so they journeyed to Toronto to see it, together with the other Canadian landmarks mentioned in The Tapestry. They took photos, wrote a travel diary, and were kind enough to share it with us... The Fionavar Tapestry Tarot DeckSara Strand aka Silvestris has created a beautiful version of the tarot deck using characters and situations from Fionavar.
